Why Work with Fancy Pants?
Dr. G (that’s Dr. Kimberley Gordon) says: Producing a book is work! And it’s complicated and confusing. And then it’s not much fun.
When formatting our first book, I realized the credits page — the place where important official stuff like copyrights is displayed — needed a book imprint. That’s fancy talk for publisher. Although I wanted to publish my own books, the words “self published” on the credits page seemed like a rookie move to me.
I rolled up my sleeves, did my research, consulted some little kids, and launched Fancy Pants Publishing, LLC, for my imprint. Don’t let the purple color here confuse you — I got plenty of bruises along the way. In 366 days time, The Little Jesus Chronicles were created and will continue to land on bookstore shelves through 2026.
If I could have found someone like me to help with this process, I’d have done it! Now I’m an old pro in a short amount of time.
Fancy Pants even has a mascot with a catchy little ditty (volume up!).

Meet The Woman Who Wears the Fancy Pants
Kimberley Gordon is an American author and professional storyteller.
Gordon’s first career was in Fortune 100 food companies. She held positions at the field and corporate levels. In her field work, Gordon focused on human capital management and workplace culture. She built and maintained a workforce peaking at 1300 people from 19 countries. In her corporate role, Gordon directed the development of 250 emerging leaders around the world.
Gordon joined academia in 2006. While her work was focused on human resource and organizational development consulting, Gordon also taught leadership and management courses in graduate and undergraduate programs. Gordon is highly credentialed most notably as a doctor of workforce development education. She and her husband spend their free time with family exploring historical sites such as Jamestown, Virginia, and cultural sites such as Canyon de Chelly, Arizona. In October, 2023, Gordon and her two grandchildren created The Little Jesus Chronicles. Writing the books was easy, they learned. The hard work came in the illustration, formatting, and production. It was overwhelming! Gordon’s academic publishing experience helped her push through the mountains of red tape and manure. That same determination is what Fancy Pants provides to clients — the ability to push past the road bumps and complete the book.

During her early years, Dr G was an HR pro caring for 1300 people from 19 countries. Her experience includes stints with Fortune 100 companies. Dr. G hopped up the proverbial ladder to a manage mentoring and professional development for a group of 250+ high-potential employees scattered around the globe. Her goal was to enhance the relationship between the unique leaders and organizational effectiveness.
Dr. G joined academia as a subject matter expert to provide consulting services to hundreds of organizations and thousands of both novice and seasoned leaders.
